If you’re like any of my friends, you probably do. And based off all your completed projects, you’re probably pretty good at managing all your home remodeling affairs too. But what do you do when that dream fireplace installation calls for a gas line re-route and becomes way more complicated than you first realized? If you ever find yourself in a position where you’re just one plumbing step away from completion, but you don’t really know what to do, it’s okay to consult a professional rather than E-how. Why is this? It’s important to realize that a professional plumbing contractor is the best person to do the job ultimately because the family’s health, safety and comfort are at risk. Why would those be at risk? Installation of a new water heater is a prime example. If the heater is gas-fired, proper venting is required to remove carbon monoxide and other harmful byproducts of combustion. Improper or incorrect installation of plumbing materials can create health hazards. When you are dealing with gas, water or waste, you want to make sure everything is installed properly, with the correct piping material.
